Hey everyone sorry it’s been so long since we’ve posted but our lives became very busy with three boys and although we love to play music we are a family first so here’s what’s been going on with us…….Tyler, who plays bass and acoustic as well as sings graduated in December of 2017 with his teaching degree and we are so proud of him! He went to school full time and worked a couple of part time jobs and paid for his own apartment. Tyler graduated from UTC in Chattanooga and loves the life there. Parker, our fiddle/mando/everything player is a junior at UTC studying GIS mapping and Urban development. He loves the college life and all it has to offer. Parker just celebrated his 21st birthday. Crazy. Jackson will be graduating high school in May and doesn’t know what he wants to do, he still plays the banjo and cajon and loves creating his own music. Yes we are proud of him as well. We love our sons, Chris and I are trying to figure out where the time went with these guys. So all of that to say we are still around, added some new shows to our website today and we are still making music. Got some new tunes so check us out and if you are in the area come and hear the Ham Family Band, you won’t be disappointed!!
Hey Ham Family Band fans August is heating up with five shows already. Check it out here on our web page under “Shows.” We had a wonderful time on our family vacation in Maggie Valley, North Carolina and while we were there we played at the beautiful Balsam Inn, in Balsam, North Carolina. Go check out their website, what an incredible place to stay, built in 1901 and still looks great!! Merrily Teasley has done an amazing job with the place and the view off the front porch is nothing short of peaceful! We hope to hear back that we are playing there again, maybe in October. Keep checking the website for details!
We are excited to announce a new Ham Family Band CD coming out by the end of August. This cd will have six more original songs including some co writes with my two oldest sons Tyler and Parker. Cameron Vaught of Raven Cliff will be providing some percussion for this project, we are excited and ready to go!
Tyler and Parker have both been offered music scholarships to Bethel University in Mackenzie, Tennessee for next year if they so choose to take them. Chris and I are very excited for them but also support whatever road they take. Keep playing and singing well boys!!
Hope to see you at some of our shows soon and please come up and introduce yourself after the show ends!
Hey we would like to thank Life Assembly Church of Mt. Juliet, TN and pastor Andrew Wharton for allowing us to play at their Broo House coffee venue. We had a great time listening to all the other performers and then wrapping it up with a Ham Family Band set.
Thanks also to Rob Robinson for letting us play a show at Puckett’s in Leiper’s Fork, TN to a sold out crowd. Puckett’s in Leiper’s Fork is where it all started for the Ham Family Band a little over four years ago. We didn’t play together at that time. I would go up on the stage during open mic night with one boy at a time as they were learning songs on their instruments and of course everyone would cheer them on. Here we are later in life, the boys are much taller (imagine that) and have come a long way in their music. Don’t think we ever thought we would be playing shows all over Nashville, TN. We are grateful for the opportunities and the friendship of Puckett’s in Leiper’s Fork.
Thanks also to the wonderful people of the other Puckett stores in and around Nashville who keep us in their rotation. Thank you Amy, Becky, Marcus, Joe, Michael, Max and Andy. We are overwhelmed by your support of us!!!
We were pleased to play Gray’s on Main for the first time in June. We are hoping to have another show in the near future there!
One more day and Jackson Ham will get his cast off! We sure have missed our banjo pickin’ fourteen year old and what he brings to The Ham Family Band! Can’t wait and I’m sure he can’t either!!
Come on out and see us in July at Puckett’s in Columbia and Nashville, just check out our show dates on this website. Also look at us later this month at Mount Pleasant Grille and Pickin’ on the Harpeth. Hope to see you out there at one of the venues!!!
We’ve been busy the past three months playing around Nashvegas. We want to give a shout out to Puckett’s Grocery, all of it’s stores and say thank you for letting us be a part of the business with continued shows!
We played the Americana Fest to a sold out show on May 29th at Franklin Pucketts and then the next evening traveled to Columbia Puckett’s for another show.
May also found the Ham Family Band at two private shows in and around Nashville, TN. We had a wonderful time getting to know some new faces and playing our tunes.
April was crazy as we played seven shows, building our fan base and presenting some new tunes in the mix.
June is starting a bit slow due to two issues: Jackson, our banjo player broke his arm in a bike accident and Parker, our fiddle/mandolin player is on a missions trip to Nicaragua with his youth group at Journey Church. Although we play music, my wife and I feel that serving others is a very important part of life and all of our sons have served in missions!
We are very proud of our sons and who they are! Don’t forget to check out our schedule for June including our first time ever to play Grays on Main Street in Franklin, TN on July 19th. Hope to see some of our fans there!
